“ Transworld Systems, Inc. Called me using a phone number with the same area code as my cell, so it looked like I was getting a "local" call (local in Wisconsin... but I live in CA). "National scope, local presence"-- this means: "We are licensed to collect debt in every state in the nation, but we can appear to your debtors as though we are right next door to them even though our base of operations is in New York! They will think our calls are from old high school friends and more likely to answer!" ”

“ Called the company that owns the line, Level 3 Communications, and they said that it seems like it could be a "spoof call" or a robo-dialer out there. They tried calling the number and it asked the agent to dial in the number the company was calling. They are reaching out to the provider immediately to investigate the company and take corporate level action against them which may include cancelling their service agreement or contract for telephone/internet services. If you have any issues, I would call Level 3 Communications Fraud Dept. at (800) 348-5457 explain your situation and that you would like them to take action. They were extremely helpful in getting the issue addressed. ”
